During our trip to Baguio, we made a stop at the iconic Lion’s Head along Kennon Road—a must-see for anyone heading up to the City of Pines. Standing about 40 feet tall, the massive sculpture is carved from a natural rock formation and painted to resemble a proud, golden lion. It’s a symbol that has welcomed travelers to Baguio for decades.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by cool mountain air and a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills and valleys. The location itself is simple, but the scenery makes it worth the stop. We took some time to admire the view, snap photos with the lion’s head, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. There were also a few small stalls nearby selling souvenirs and snacks, which added to the local charm.
It was a great way to take a break from the drive and appreciate the beauty of nature before continuing our journey to the city. Visiting the Lion’s Head reminded us that sometimes the best memories come from these short, unplanned stops along the way.
One of the highlights of our Baguio trip was spending time at Burnham Park, right in the heart of the city. The park was full of life—surrounded by pine trees, colorful gardens, and wide open spaces where people were biking, jogging, or just relaxing.
What made our visit extra special was when we rented a boat with paddles and enjoyed a peaceful ride across the park’s man-made lake. We paddled slowly, taking in the cool breeze and the beautiful reflections of the trees on the water. It was a calm and enjoyable moment that really let us slow down and appreciate the scenery.
After the boat ride, we took a walk around the park, explored the gardens, and watched families and groups of friends having fun at the playgrounds and bike areas. There were also food stalls nearby where we grabbed a quick snack and just sat down to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
Burnham Park felt like the perfect escape in the middle of the city—a place where you can breathe, unwind, and just enjoy the day.
